Just Like You

The only time I was taller than you was when you’d put me up on your shoulders.

Do you remember that?

Now I’m a bit taller than you,

But it still feels like you’re a majestic mountain,

And I’m a rolling hill,

In awe of your presence,

Striving to become something more.

Thank you for putting me up on your shoulders,

For you showed me where I want to be,

But mostly because I know I won’t get there without you.
